The Maryland Journal
The beginnings of freedom of speech in America started with Mary Katherine Goddard. She was a newspaper editor and the first lady postmaster. She published pieces ranging from writings by "Tom Telltruth" to the first printed copy of the Declaration of Independence. Mary Katherine did not engage in public controversies but remained an impersonal editor. If she were here today, it's not likely she could keep quiet. This blog highlights discussions amongst a small, but patriotic, group of friends.

My Mother worked for Westinghouse for 25 years making turbines for airplane engines.
She worked alongside the men all that time and NEVER made the same amount of money they did.
She was the breadwinner because my Dad was sick most of that time and she had 4 children to support.
And the fight continues still! There are women today who are the sole support of their children who earn less than single men and are doing excatly the same work.
